“The Walking Dead”: In this way Maggie Negan could forgive

In the 10th season of “The Walking Dead” Lauren Cohan returns as fan favorite Maggie. In season 11 at the latest, there should be a reunion with her son Hershel – who might reconcile Maggie with Negan.

As a former leader of the Saviors, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) once hit the “The Walking Dead” survivor group around Rick (Andrew Lincoln) hard. After Rick finally spared his life and Negan lived in captivity in Alexandria for several years, he has meanwhile continued to rehabilitate himself.

Although he is still viewed with skepticism by many, he is now largely free to move around again and has proven his worth for the community several times, especially when it came to working with Carol (Melissa McBride) on the unscrupulous Whisperer Hunt down Leader Alpha (Samantha Morton).

But a new encounter between Negan and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) should be particularly exciting, who will probably have more difficulties than anyone else in forgiving Negan for his past deeds. But it doesn’t seem impossible …

Glenn’s killer

We remember: At his first appearance at the end VexMovies the sixth or the beginning of the seventh “Walking Dead” season, Negan brutally beat Maggie’s great love Glenn (Steven Yeun) to death. He and Maggie have not had much to do with each other since the victory over the Saviors and Negans captivity, but their hatred for him is unlikely to have died down by then.

But what about six years later when Maggie finally returns after living in a different community (probably the Commonwealth known from the comic)?

“I think at first she will just want to kill him,” revealed Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently at the virtual Comic-Con. You can find the corresponding YouTube video for the panel in full length below:

In fact, Maggie is unlikely to be enthusiastic that Negan is now at large. But this hostility will probably also be softened a little on Negan’s further path to rehabilitation. And Morgan already had an idea how to go about it …

Forgiveness thanks to Maggie’s son Hershel?

Negan has proven he has a soft heart when it comes to the younger survivors of the zombie apocalypse. Not only has he demonstrated his care in dealing with Rick’s children Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Judith (Cailey Fleming), but is now likely to become a kind of father figure for Alpha’s daughter Lydia (Cassady McClincy).

And according to Morgan, this vein may also allow him to develop a paternal friendship with Maggie’s son Hershel, who is now about seven years old – if Maggie gives him the opportunity at all.

Once Maggie perceives the caring side of Negan, it is quite possible that she will see him with slightly different eyes – and ultimately be able to forgive him to a certain extent.

Whether it really turns out that way remains to be seen, after all, Morgan is not an author of the series, as he himself pointed out in his comments. But it would be possible, although we would have to wait a little longer …

No Hershel in episode 16 yet

As Lauren Cohan revealed at the said Comic-Con, after Maggie’s return we’ll have to wait a little longer until we see Hershel again. At least in the original tenth season finale, which will be submitted to the FOX Channel and Sky Ticket in this country on October 5, 2020, Hershel does not appear, after all, according to Cohan, no actor has yet been found for her series son.

Cohan is really looking forward to it and especially to his meeting with the bright Judith, which will ensure some “informative conversations”.

It is still unclear whether Hershel’s comeback will take place in the recently announced six additional episodes of the tenth season, which will appear in early 2021, or not until the eleventh season, which starts in October 2021.
